The Post-Exchange is undergoing a massive overhaul in the coming months and therefore will not be updated. It will no longer operate as a news Website.

After an intense strategic planning process at the McCormick Foundation in early 2010, the McCormick Freedom Project was merged with the Foundation’s Citizenship grant making arm to become the McCormick Foundation Civics Program. The program seeks to improve access to quality civic education and engagement opportunities in Chicagoland for youth ages 12-22. It has been determined that the Post-Exchange’s role as a news Website does not fit under our new mission statement.

That said the Post-Exchange is not going anywhere.

We are currently in the process of working to transform this Website into a resource based around civic education for educators and students. In the meantime, you can still sign up for our Freedom and the First Amendment in the News e-newsletter, which aggregates news on First Amendment and freedom issues. You can also visit the McCormick Foundation Civics Program Website to learn more about our current programs and resources.

Should the sale of violent video games be regulated for those under age 18?

You answered YES.
Many advocates for restrictions argue that exposing minors to violent video games is harmful, causing psychological damage and in some cases could lead to violent behavior.

You answered NO.
Those against regulations say there is little causal evidence to suggest video games lead to violent behavior and any regulations violate the First Amendment.
